CASE STUDIES: Why getting that BRAIN TRAIN advantage is a MUST!

*The following narratives are but a few documented cases which prove time and again that BRAIN TRAIN is not just any review center. (Note: due to ethical reasons, we have decided against publishing the actual names of the people involved in the following cases. But rest assured that each Case Study is purely factual.)

CASE STUDY 1

BRAIN TRAIN reviewee G.M.M. may only be 2nd in his school,
but he beat his valedictorian, non-BRAIN TRAIN reviewee classmate into becoming
one of the UPCAT topnotchers in the whole Philippines.

G.M.M., who graduated salutatorian from De La Salle Lipa, reviewed at BRAIN TRAIN to prepare for his UPCAT. His valedictorian classmate had chosen to review in another UPCAT review center. G.M.M. and his valedictorian classmate both passed the UPCAT. However, BRAIN TRAIN helped G.M.M. to not just pass the UPCAT but to even become an UPCAT Topnotcher (INTARMED Qualifier; UPCAT Top 92). His valedictorian classmate, on the other hand, simply passed the UPCAT yet did not make it to the topnotchers’ list.

CASE STUDY 2

Salutatorian BRAIN TRAIN reviewee makes it to UPRHS,
while the valedictorian non-BRAIN TRAIN reviewee does not.

In 2005, A.C. of a private sectarian school in Sta. Cruz, Laguna graduated salutatorian. She reviewed at Brain Train and successfully qualified for the UP Rural High School. On the other hand, her classmate who graduated valedictorian (reviewed in another review center; not at BRAIN TRAIN) was not able to make it to UP Rural High School.

CASE STUDIES 3 & 4

High School valedictorians regret
not getting that BRAIN TRAIN advantage for the UPCAT.

In 2003, R.B. of a public high school in Los Baños regretted not reviewing at BRAIN TRAIN, because she failed making it to UP despite the fact that she graduated valedictorian. To add insult to the injury, her salutatorian classmate made it to UP after getting that BRAIN TRAIN advantage.

In 2007, the principal of a private sectarian school in Tanauan, Batangas was surprised that her school’s salutatorian made it to UP yet the valedictorian did not. She also noticed that during her 4th year, F.T. (the salutatorian) significantly improved in Science, English and in Mathematics. After talking to F.T., she discovered her secret in hurdling the UPCAT: F.T. got that BRAIN TRAIN advantage but the valedictorian did not. Now, the principal actively encourages her students to get that BRAIN TRAIN advantage.

CASE STUDY 5

BRAIN TRAIN Reviewee A.R.S. becomes the first
Philippine Science High School Qualifier of his school!

BRAIN TRAIN reviewee A.R.S. of a public school in Bay, Laguna graduated salutatorian and became the first ever Philippine Science High School qualifier of his school. His non-BRAIN TRAIN reviewee valedictorian classmate, however, failed to make it to Philippine Science High School.

CASE STUDY 6

Why they transferred to BRAIN TRAIN

A certain school in Laguna used to actively endorse another review center. A couple of years later, the high school principal realized that her students still did not perform that well in the UPCAT. Out of around 50 of her students who reviewed there, less than 10 passed the UPCAT. At the same time, she learned that six of her students had chosen to review at BRAIN TRAIN instead of the review center she endorsed. Out of the six “rebels/non-conformists” who chose BRAIN TRAIN, three of them passed the UPCAT (note: these “rebels/non-conformists” were not the most intelligent students in that school). She talked to these “rebels/non-conformists” and they averred that they more than satisfied with BRAIN TRAIN. One of them even said:

“I don’t know what’s with BRAIN TRAIN, but with them, I want to study each and everyday [this is despite the fact that she had to travel for about an hour everyday just to review at BRAIN TRAIN]! The great thing is that I’ve discovered that learning and having fun could be done at the same time.”

And the other one commented this on one of our networks:

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the Brain Train teachers who simplified all the complicated lessons in school and for helping me pass the UPCAT! Now my wish of being admitted in UP Diliman is not a just a dream but a reality through of course with the help of Brain Train and the power of prayer. More power and God Bless! I forgot it's just my username that will appear here but I'm ******, ********* from ******, Quezon na nag-review pa po dun sa LB. Kahit malayo sa amin sulit naman...”

Needless to say, the principal decided to actively endorse BRAIN TRAIN instead.

NOTE:

Our case studies are not meant to ruin the reputation of schools.  We know for a fact that schools and school teachers were designed and tasked with so many things such as effective teaching, meeting the needs of all pupils, fostering discipline and safety, etc.  But as an UPCAT review center, BRAIN TRAIN specifically targets the students’ passing of the UPCAT.  So in our Case Studies, we were merely pointing out that our review program makes a difference, because if it does not, then there’s no point of the students’ enrolling at review centers or their undertaking of any review whatsoever: the three and ¼ years in high school would have been enough.  We acknowledge though that we are not miracle workers, and that the roles of schools and the attitude of the students themselves play an even bigger role in the students’ performance in the UPCAT.  This is why we never guarantee any success in the UPCAT.  What we guarantee, though, is that our review program will increase a student’s chance of passing the UPCAT.
